It’s been a while. So much has happened.
My play Everlasting was performed in Fave Short in Armidale in March 2014 It was very well received. I’ve been busy with writing for TV and screenplays. I’m also in the process of negotiating and furthering my studies. During my years as a playwright, it’s felt like climbing and uphill battle at times. Some of you reading this will understand why we write. The struggle we face, at times without financial rewards and other times without even credits or a mention of what we do. If you’re considering being a playwright, you must develop thick skin and know what drives you. I’d like to make a difference in the way writers are recognised (or not) which is the biggest problem. If you’re a female and you live in a regional or rural setting, bare in mind the struggles you’ll face along the way. Persist if you have any ounce of energy left. It is draining and disappointing, it’s magical and devastating. Write for you, you have a voice, it’s worth listening to and we want to hear it.
